Selling a home means an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C upgrade

I do our level best to bring home sellers and home buyers together.

  • That’s genuinely our primary mission as a real estate professional.

Absolutely, real estate is also the way I make a living. Yet, the monetary aspect is not what gets me out of bed in the day. It’s the chance to make that match between seller and customer which drives me. So, I sort of get our back up a bit when anyone suggests that I am only in it for the commission. And yet, I hear this at least once a week. In fact, I heard it today when I recommended to a home owner that she should consider replacing the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device prior to the home getting listed. You would have thought I had insulted her partner and family the way she reacted. She just went off about how all I was interested in was driving up the sales commission. Yet, she never said that the plan of replacing the heating and cooling device was wrong. That’s because in her heart and head, she knew that the old heat pump had to go. It’s just that she didn’t want to spend money for it. From her perspective, the home was such a find that any potential customer would be thrilled to negotiate when it came to the old Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment. If it hadn’t been for her partner, I would have walked out the door and left that mess to the next realtor. However, I showed her the data that proved new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device meant a far better price on a home. Still, I’m a little chapped and not super eager to deal with that girl again.
