Yep, I think the neighbors have gone all in on the air conditioning all the time now, and it’s almost mid May and that seems about right.
Those are some kind people and I’m sure lucky they live next door.
They’re from up north and have only been here a couple of years, but they don’t take to the heat and humidity as they had hoped I guess. Once June rolls around they stay sealed up in the air conditioning. Like seriously, they go from the garage in the air conditioning of a car straight to work, and there they are inside the commercial HVAC of that office all afternoon. Back inside the air conditioning of the car to the garage and then inside the central air conditioning of their home. This is the weekly routine until at least October, well except for weekends. Then, they just stay sealed up inside the central air conditioning day and night. Again, I’m quite serious. I sure miss my neighbors during the Summer, but dang how in the world do they afford all the cooling costs. I checked and their SEER rating is about the same as our heat pump. Man, I have a full plan of attack when it comes to air conditioning costs, and I’m all about preparing the home to save on air conditioning costs. And I’m a thermostat hawk when it comes to the Summer. I’m even doing all the cooking outside this Summer so I don’t use the stove and heat up the house. Even then, I hate opening the utility bill from June through October. My neighbors must be paying an absolute fortune for their cooling costs.
