Going back to zone controlled HVAC

Honestly, it feels a bit weird to begin taking my first steps toward returning to a sort of new normal with respect to the pandemic. After more than a year of big time changes and sacrifice, I thought I would feel a bit different than I do. Perhaps I’m looking at this all wrong. But coming out of the security of my HVAC maintained home feels a bit strange. Like, it seems a bit anticlimactic or something. Now that I’m fully vaccinated, I figured I’d be itching to get out and about. But, I’m just not. In fact, I have come to like a lot of things about being inside the HVAC at home. For one, it’s summer and where I live, most of us look to stay inside the HVAC cooling this time of year. So, I’m not champing at the bit to get outside. But the problem was never really outside of the HVAC. It was inside with groups of people. So now, the office I work in is starting to let people back in. From what I’ve heard, there is even an HVAC upgrade. The office once had just one thermostat for the entire floor. This was a stupid design as the temperature varied throughout our office floor. So the company put in zone controlled HVAC. Now there are 5 independent zone control areas for heating and cooling. While the new HVAC comfort is appealing, I’m still really considering not returning to the office. I may choose to continue to work remotely. Not only have I gotten accustomed to working from home but I’m far more productive as well.
