When I was a little girl, I remember playing dress up with our Barbie dolls, and i would dress them up in the birthday clothes and have a giant birthday with all our other dolls and stuffed creatures in attendance… Those dreams of a perfect birthday followed me into our adulthood.
I thought our birthday was supposed to be perfect, but I was about to be disillusioned, but my fiance and I had everything planned out, right down to the third. The two of us knew the exact time they would introduce us as partner and partner. The two of us even had an exact time for the birthday dance to happen. I thought both of us planned out everything until the day of the birthday. The arena called early in the day and told us the HVAC plan wasn’t laboring. I couldn’t imagine having 250 people in 1 hall, and no air conditioner, and what I thought was going to be our perfect birthday was ending up being a disaster. The arena offered to let us use another room, but it was only sizable enough for 200 people. I was in tears thinking about how our gorgeous birthday was ruined because of the lack of air conditioner. My soon-to-be-partner told me everything would be okay and even offered to get her sister to look at the air conditioner! How was I going to let her best lady go to work, even if she was an HVAC contractor? Luckily, an hour before both of us were to arrive at the arena, the director called and said the HVAC plan was repaired and the birthday could go on as planned.
