That is really no way to live the rest of the Winter time season, but for crying out loud, it’s only October right now
My Dad & dad have been on social security for a long time… Very few of weeks ago they found out that the gas furnace in the apartment needs to be replaced! I thought our Dad & dad were going to have the work done, so I was surprised when I went to visit a few days later & the apartment was cold, then my dad was running a space furnace in her office & there was another space furnace running in the kitchen for our mom. I asked our Dad what happened to the gas furnace & she told me to have a talk with our dad. She told me that she did not want to pay the astronomical installation fees that the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C service corporation wanted to charge. I tried to tell our dad that it was perfectly adequate for the corporation to charge the fees, however she is convinced that the contractor is trying to make cash by cheating our dad. I told our dad that the people I was with and I could call a couple of other locales to get estimates, however she told me that they are perfectly fine with the space heater. My Dad easily does not look perfectly fine, however the last time I went to the house, she was bundled up in bed with all of her clothes on & the covers. That is really no way to live the rest of the Winter time season, but for crying out loud, it’s only October right now. I do not know how to convince our dad to let me help. I might have to wait until she goes to town for the morning & have the work done then. I can’t imagine she would tell the gas furnace insulation corporation to take everything back.
