My Mom and Dad decided to sell their house and move to the southeast. My sister and I were devastated when they invited us over for dinner and gave us the bad news. It felt like a punch in the gut. My mom and dad never talked about moving to the southeast and it felt like that decision was quick and crazy. My mom and dad tried to explain the reasons why they thought the move was a good idea, but honestly my sister and I weren’t really listening at that point. I thought they would move down south and I would never hear from them again, but my Mom and Dad call me all of the time. They decided to buy a house on a golf course. The house needs a lot of repairs and the heating system is old. Since I work for an HVAC repair company, my mom and dad always call when they have questions about the heating system. When they called a local repair company for a quote, my mom and dad called to make sure that it was a reasonable amount of money for the repairs. I know they miss us, but they are clearly having a lot of fun. My mom and dad laugh all of the time and they constantly have a smile on their faces.
