This time there was a puff of dust and smoke that came out of the air conditioner and then the entire unit shut down
I have three roommates and very little privacy. When I need to study, sometimes I go to a hotel for the night. There are a couple of hotels that will give you a break on the rate if you show them your student identification card. I can stay at the Best Western by the campus for $40 a night. The beds are pretty comfortable and the walls are thick. It’s one of the only places in the city where you can’t hear the person on the other side of the wall. The sound barrier in this hotel is even better than the sound barrier in my own apartment. I often have to listen to the neighbors arguing or having sex. Either way it’s nothing that I want to listen to when I have to study for an exam. I went to a hotel a few months ago when I had a huge exam for my psychology class. My roommate had her boyfriend there all weekend and I couldn’t get anything done. I used the last of my money to rent the room. I turned on the air conditioner right away. It was really stuffy in the room and I wanted to be able to relax. The air conditioner made a strange sound when I turned it on. Cold air started to come out of the air vents, so I didn’t consider the noise until it happened again. This time there was a puff of dust and smoke that came out of the air conditioner and then the entire unit shut down. Clearly the hotel air conditioner was broken. I had to move to a different room or wait for a maintenance guy to fix the unit.
