I thought that I knew everything back when I was a kid.
One of the things that used to annoy me about my dad was the fact that he would never let me turn the air conditioning way down during the summer.
He said if you turn the air conditioning system down too low, then you will end up making the whole air conditioning system freeze over but I did not believe him. I actually just used to think that my dad was a cheapskate we didn’t want us to have a nice cool house in the summer time.He was always complaining about paying high cooling bills, so I thought this whole idea of him telling me that the A/C would freeze over was some kind of a mind game that he was playing on me. In my mind, the air conditioning was made to cool the house off, and so the lower the temperature settings were, the better off I would be. Of course, that wasn’t the case at all and one day I ended up tearing up our air conditioning because I refused to listen to my dad. I turned the A/C settings all the way down one day and of course, I ended up with an air conditioning system that was completely frozen over. We had to call our local HVAC company to have them come to fix it and that was so embarrassing. My dad was so mad at me when he figured out what I had done. I mean, if it had been an honest mistake, that would have been one thing. However, I had deliberately disobeyed him by turning the thermostat down all the way on purpose.
