I’ve been caring for my pops over the past few years.
His health has been steadily declining, in addition to my mom not being in the picture anymore so she cannot actually help.
It’s been hard on me, but I’m glad that my pops is supported by someone who actually cares for her. In caring for his home, I’ve come to take charge of things like the cooling and heating system. The more time goes on, the more he demands the heating system be on at all minutes of the day. At first he wanted the heat on in the mornings when he first woke up because that seems to be when his body temperature is the coldest. I installed a SMART thermostat so that I could program the heat to start thirty minutes before his proper wake up time, then now he is craving heat more throughout the day, so I’ve had to make updates to the whole apartment heating system in order for it to keep up with his needs. Pops is lucky that I am cold-blooded and like the heat, because a normal guy would not be able to withstand the heating system running during the Summer months. I’m realizing that whole apartment heating is crucial to various senior citizens, in addition to that’s certainly a market that a/c companies respectfully market towards. I actually think that if my pops were in a senior home, he would not feel comfortable. I’m thankful to work from my apartment so that he can have everything that he needs. He is such a sweet guy who deserves to age as gracefully as he is.
