Since I wasn’t laid off when they initially closed the offices with the zone controlled office, I thought I was safe. Actually, I really wasn’t sweating it all that much anyhow. I’d been with the company for more than 20 years and was a senior member of management. I even had my own thermostat in my office. But about a year into the pandemic, our company was sold. The new management decided to cut loose a bunch of the veteran management in a salary purge. This was pretty shocking. But at least I didn’t have to figure out how to work from home in my own air conditioning. I’d been doing that for more than a year. But while I had made a great living, I was far from ready to hang up my skills and retire. Plus, I had more that I wanted to do in the industry. Instead of looking for a new job, I upgraded the HVAC in my home office and started my own consulting company. The HVAC upgrade was a big necessary move. I really prefer to work a crisp, cool air conditioning. This drove my wife nuts because I was yanking down the thermostat to low for her. The HVAC company was able to install a ductless heat pump inside my home office and that did the trick. I’m amazed with how efficient and powerful the ductless heat pump is. And I’m continuing the streak of having a thermostat inside my office. While I miss many of my colleagues, I have to say that doing my own thing has really been quite and adventure thus far.

When we moved to the south, there were a lot of changes in store for us. My wife and I were both born, raised and lived all of our lives way up north. We’re talking so far north that we had winter for nearly 6 months out of the year. So moving from all of that HVAC heating to a place that hardly needs HVAC heating was a big change for us. It was one of several changes that we had to make when we chose to live in the south. I’m still getting accustomed to the way people talk. And I have to slow down the way I speak so people can simply understand me. But it’s all been worth it primarily because we don’t have to worry about winter weather any more. There’s no more gas furnace and the temperatures almost never get to the freezing point. We do have the need for a bit of HVAC heating a few times over the winter. But the heat is a whole other thing. The house we bought came with a sunroom that was basically not useable for a quarter of the year. However, I had the HVAC company come out to install a ductless heat pump in the sunroom so we can enjoy sitting out there during the summer. I really don’t use the sunroom that much in the winter as I prefer to actually be outside. But having the sunroom equipped with HVAC cooling makes it comfortable to sit in there during the summer when going outside is too hot.

It was not the easiest of decisions.

But with the state of my life, I thought a fresh start might be in order.

I’m living proof that too much time spent inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office will cost you. It cost me my family. And it wasn’t like my wife just suddenly or randomly decided to file for divorce. No, there was counseling and all the other stuff. My ex wife really tried and I didn’t do anything but continue to work like my life depended on it. I reached the achievement level I was aiming for but it cost me everything that was of real value to me. The kids are now in college and my ex is happy with her life. I, on the other hand, was miserable. I built that business that was so important into a huge success. So successful that I was bought out for a staggering sum of money. But soon after, I was just an additional piece of furniture in that zone controlled HVAC of the offices. So I folded it up, kept my seat on the board and relocated to take a stab at a new life. I’m a relatively young man in my early 50’s. So, I moved out of the gas furnace region for the heat pump region. And believe me, there isn’t much need for HVAC heating where I live now. The heat pump is put to good use though as we need a ton of HVAC cooling. However, I’ve found that my new home is a nice place to be and I’d much rather deal with air conditioning than HVAC heating all winter.

I like to save money as much as the next guy and maybe even a little bit more.

I was raised to value a dollar and to get as much value out of every dollar that I spent.

That’s the way my dad was and that’s the way I am. My dad might have been a big more extreme about saving money than I am. He actually had a plastic case over the thermostat that he could lock. That’s how intense he was about saving money. The thermostat was going to stay where it was most economical even if he had to lock it down to make that happen. I’m not quite that intense when it comes to heating and cooling savings. However, I make sure that the house is prepped and ready for the summer and winter extremes. This really does make a huge difference when it comes to heating and cooling costs. I also make sure that I’m spending money on HVAC maintenance. Preventive maintenance is something I firmly believe in. And I don’t trust the maintenance or repair of my HVAC equipment to anyone but a certified HVAC technician. This isn’t a problem since I’ve been with the same HVAC company for more than 25 years. In fact, we had to replace the old HVAC unit a few years back. But that old HVAC unit ran 23 years without so much as single hiccup when it came to heating and cooling our home. That’s why I only trust real HVAC professionals when it comes to our heating and cooling equipment.

I really don’t like the fact that I’m so busy that I can’t seem to make any headway.

For one, I’m forever inside the zone controlled HVAC of the offices these days.

There seems to be one crisis after another and we’re still not back to our pre-pandemic staffing levels. So that means a lot of late nights inside that zone controlled HVAC. Then you throw in the family and household responsibilities and I’m really feeling as though I’m running in circles. I certainly don’t mean to complain as I know there are so many people that would love to have the sort of life I’m able to lead. Still though, I’d love to be able to have a minute to myself in the air conditioning of my house to simply just be. My wife feels the same way. We keep making plans for date night but they keep falling through. The best we’ve done is having a glass of wine together inside the quality heating and air while preparing dinner. That’s just not good enough. On top of that, I’m not taking care of stuff like the HVAC chores. I just went two months without changing out the HVAC air filter in my home. That’s not good at all. The HVAC air filter needs to be changed on a monthly basis. Leaving a clogged and dirty HVAC air filter in for months puts stress on the HVAC unit. At least I signed up for the HVAC service plan so I’m not forgetting to call for an HVAC maintenance appointment. The HVAC company sees to scheduling the HVAC maintenance so that’s at least one thing off of my list.

I often wonder how better the world would be if we all focused our energies on the big stuff.

Instead, I see countless examples of authority being used for the dumbest stuff ever.

The fact that my HVAC equipment can be seen from the street temporarily seems like a very minor issue from any perspective. But if you happen to be a member of the HOA enforcement arm in our planned community, it’s so not a minor issue. Again, why are we wasting time on stuff like my HVAC equipment when there are real needs that should be addressed. I’m not at war with the idea of an HOA. While I think the need for an HOA is often grossly overstated, I understand the need. We all want to protect our property values as our homes are big time investments. But having the HOA come down on me over a silly, minor heating and cooling situation is laughable. And honestly, that’s the way I’m addressing all the threats from the HOA. We took out a dying hedge that was hiding the HVAC equipment on the outside of our home. We replaced that hedge and are now just waiting a few months for it to grow in a bit more. The HVAC equipment will once again be hidden from view. But that’s not good enough for the HOA. They want a fence constructed and painted while the hedge grows. I told them to get stuffed and they could contract my lawyer with any further threats.

Well this time, it seems as though there really are going to be some changes.

So, I think I may slow my roll when it comes to taking a different job.

I told the big bosses that I’d for sure give them time to make the changes they said were imminent. I actually went to their offices with the zone controlled HVAC to let them know that I was entertaining other offers. And that was not an easy conversation. I had to be at the corporate offices inside that luscious zone controlled HVAC for some training. My regional office is several states away and has been a train wreck for years. I’ve been with the company for 20 years but was starting to entertain other offers because the situation at my office was so bad. The management there was terrible. These people were actually taking money from things like HVAC maintenance to make the numbers look better. And still, the numbers were very poor. But we seriously have one thermostat for an entire office when every other regional office has updated commercial HVAC. That should tell you something right there. For me, enough was enough. If the management team was going to fudge numbers with HVAC maintenance money, then it was time to go elsewhere. But I really didn’t want to do that given how vested I was with this company. However, I’d heard it all before and I wasn’t to confident any real change would happen. But when the HVAC professionals showed up to completely re-do our commercial HVAC after the management team was sent packing, I had hope.

Now, I don’t know why I would get a central air conditioner

I don’t want a central air conditioner, and I wouldn’t take a central air conditioner if someone offered a central air conditioner to me. At this point, I have lived long enough without a central air conditioner that I am absolutely not interested in getting a central air conditioner for my house. When I was a kid, nobody had a central air conditioner. Now, central air conditioners did exist when I was a kid, but nobody that I knew had a central air conditioner. Only large buildings and printing shops had central air conditioners. There might have been a few rich people that could afford a central air conditioner. However, none of the regular people in my town had a central air conditioner, and if they had affordable central air conditioners in that time period, I don’t think that my parents would have been very interested in a central air conditioner anyway. My parents were very old-fashioned, and they loved spending time outside. I am sure that if they would have gotten a central air conditioner, they would have feared that we would spend too much time inside. Due to this, I never had a central air conditioner, and I never missed it either. Now, I don’t know why I would get a central air conditioner. I have felt central air conditioners before, and every time I am in a house that has a central air conditioner, I always feel cold. Furthermore, central air conditioners are expensive, and I am on a fixed income. I never want a central air conditioner, and I am perfectly content.

I have decided not to become an HVAC technician, but I know that my family is going to be devastated.

They thought that I was going to be an HVAC technician, and I have never given them any reason to think that I wasn’t going to be an HVAC technician.

My dad is an HVAC technician, and my dad even owns his own HVAC company. From a young age, my dad began training me to fix HVAC units, and I know that he was preparing me to become an HVAC technician one day. To be fair, my dad never tried to force me to become an HVAC technician, but I was naturally interested in working on HVAC units, and I was fully prepared to become an HVAC technician. I will even say that I was excited to become an HVAC technician. I have worked for the HVAC company for a few years during the evening while I was in high school, and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, I will not be able to work as an HVAC technician. I recently discovered that I do not want to become an HVAC technician, and I realized it when I discovered another passion of mine. I have never spent a lot of time on computers, but after taking a computer class, I think that I would like to go into some field that works on computers. I would still be able to get a great job, and would probably make more money this way. However, I know that my parents are going to be very sad that I am not going to become an HVAC technician. I am passing up a great job, and I am passing up the HVAC company that I was supposed to run.

Do you think that I should become an HVAC technician? I am strongly considering becoming an HVAC technician, and I want to know what you think.

I want to become an HVAC technician because I know that I would be good at it. I have always been good at taking things about and fixing them, and I have always been interested in learning how to fix HVAC units. One of my uncles is an HVAC technician, and whenever our HVAC units stop working, my uncle is the one that actually fixed our HVAC units. Whenever my uncle fixed the HVAC units, he would allow me to help him because he knew that I liked to take things about and fixed them. Sure, I may not know a lot about fixing HVAC units, but I really enjoyed working on the HVAC units whenever I could, and I learned a few things about fixing HVAC units. Another reason that I want to become an HVAC technician is that I love all the benefits that come with being an HVAC technician. When it comes to the benefits, I don’t think that there is any job that actually beats becoming an HVAC technician, and I will die by that statement. I don’t have to get any college debt because the HVAC company will provide all my training for free. Furthermore, I don’t have to worry about finding a good job, because everyone needs HVAC technicians. I could even start my own HVAC company one day if I would like to. There are so many possibilities and freedoms that come with being an HVAC technician that I would be a fool not to become an HVAC technician.
