High Velocity Heating and A/C is the Answer

My little house, which some people call my dollhouse, was built in 1929.

It simply oozes charm.

I prefer it, however unfortunately I do not live in it yet. Instead, I use it as a rental. It’s a long story about how that came about, so I won’t go into it here. Suffice it to say that I moved closer to work, and now I simply do not want to go back to that long commute. Anyway, as all things do, from time to time my lake house needs maintenance. Recently, that maintenance meant looking into upgrading the Heating and A/C system. I have a central heating and cooling system, just like all the people in this general area. I live in the Southeast, so all of us do not need heavy-duty heating systems that will last through 12 inches of snow. What all of us need is legitimately enjoyable air conditioning! Our thermostats are often set on 69 degrees when outside the thermostats are indicating the natural temperature is close to 3 digits. Imagine how hard an cooling system must toil and how efficient that AC must be in order to keep your home comfortable for you. When my AC came close to the end of its natural life, I started looking for Alternatives and a single of those happened to be a high velocity Heating and A/C. I had never heard of such a thing in my life oh, however my AC guy legitimately recommended it for my home. I have had to replace my HVAC duct twice since I’ve owned my lake house because it is all in the crawl space underneath and no matter what I seem to do wild critters seem to find a way to get under there and rip up my HVAC duct. It turns out that High Velocity Heating and A/C is called high velocity because the HVAC duct is legitimately small in diameter so the air that comes out of the AC vent is legitimately blasted out at a high speed.I took him up on it and I am thrilled with my high velocity heating and cooling.

Wish I could get a heat pump

I wish heat pumps weren’t so fancy. I hate my current Heating and A/C unit and want to change it out with a heat pump, look up the stats on these things, it is harshly impressive. Rather than create heated air, it simply uses it in the existing air. It takes fresh, clean outdoor air and pumps it inside for a heating effect in the winter, then for the summertime the reverse happens. You get a constant stream of current air. That means no dirty indoor air conditions or odory, stuffy air anymore. You also reduce your energy bills quite a bit with this plan of heating and air conditioning. They say a heat pump pays back for itself in energy bill savings in under a year. That is enjoyable since the initial cost is supremely high. It is shocking when you price check a heat pump with a usual central Heating and A/C unit. It is so much more cash and if you want an even better heat pump, more of an replacement job, however geothermal heat pumps are way better. They use an underground loop plan to get that heat energy. Think about in the wintertime what is warmer, the air outside or the ground temperature. The same goes for cold air in the summertime. It makes sense to bury the unit. It is also neater and less of an eyepore. But now you are digging into the lawn and doing a more complicated Heating and A/C replacement job. It isn’t cheap to do this at all. Is a heat pump worth the cost? That is the question I come back to time and time again.

Want to make the switch to zone control

I’m eventually going to have Heating and A/C zone control in my house… Currently I live with central Heating and A/C which means HVAC duct is in my ceiling and is a series of metal pathways that lead to each room of the house, however each opening has a vent cover and that is what provides heating and air conditioning for the whole house.

The benefits of a central plan is that every room gets an equal share.

It is a pretty basic plan to get repairs and maintenance on! You never need to worry about replacement parts. I hate it though. I hate dealing with dirty HVAC duct and icky vents. I also don’t like that the central Heating and A/C unit takes up so much space in my closet. I have a big hallway closet that only holds the indoor unit and the water heater. I can’t fit a broom, mop or even a tote in here. It is a waste of space. Someday I am going to do a tankless water heater. Have you ever seen unit with that style of model? It is so small! I also want ductless mini splits in each room of the house. They serve as the indoor air handlers and free up closet space. With having a unit in each room with a thermostat, I can have zone control. I want zone control because my fiance loves AC so much. He constantly is cranking on the cooling system and making myself and others uncomfortable. I try to sneak in the heat whenever possible. With zone control all of us each can have our own spaces.

Changing to a ductless unit

I also freed up floor space by removing it and could put a base cabinet in the living room

For months I was dealing with a ventless heating system in my living room. It was a horrible furnace! One reason was that when it wasn’t operational the heating system pooped out cold air. If you sat in the chair across from the heating system you were cold the whole breakfasttime. When it clicked on it was super loud and not legitimately powerful. I bought the best plan I could afford at the time which wasn’t much. I just didn’t want my pipes to freeze. It was a dirty plan too. I was constantly using an air compressor to blow out the dust in the system. I felt like every month it was telling myself and others about a blocked air filter. I legitimately did think that the ventless heating system was eventually going to burn my lake house down. I finally had the cash and the ambition to replace it. I wanted something that offered better heat. I landed on a ductless mini split. I had it mounted on my exterior wall and the outdoor unit is hidden behind the house. With this plan I legitimately get both heating and cooling power. It is especially nice if I want to use the oven in the summertime. The ductless heating option is just way better. The living room legitimately feels hot for once. I also freed up floor space by removing it and could put a base cabinet in the living room. That section of the living room looks so much better now. The ductless Heating and A/C unit is legitimately quite current and sleek too. I am thrilled I made the change over.

Four Tips to Save on Your Heating plus Cooling Bill

Whenever it gets severely hot or severely frosty you can regularly hear people complaining about how much it costs to run the heating plus cooling system.

I have l gained over the years many ways to save money when it comes to air conditioning.

First of all, turn to your windows. If you have old windows with gaps plus who knows what else, it might be time for modern windows. Technology improves every aspect of life, plus windows are no exception. Overtime Windows has been getting more plus more efficient. If you are still using Windows from the 1960s or 69s or 73s, it is time to suppose about getting better Windows. If you want to save money on your heating plus cooling but do not want to replace your windows, at least you can either put window movie on end or seal up all the cracks around the edges of your windows. This will allow your A/C to work less plus thereby save you money. Secondly, At this time of year especially, it’s a fantastic plan to turn off your at night plus open your windows. Ceiling fans, too, make you assume cooler than you absolutely are, however now I’m not saying you should be unsafe. If it makes you assume unsafe, do not do it. Thirdly, get a smart thermostat. If you do not want to spend my money on a modern thermostat, make sure that every time you leave the cabin you turn up the thermostat a few degrees so your A/C will not have to chill a cabin that no 1 is in. Number four, use Ceiling fans.Ceiling fans allow you to set your thermostat a few degrees higher plus still assume cool.

Changing to a ductless unit

For weeks I was dealing with a ventless heating system in my dining room.

  • It was a horrible furnace.
