The two of us rented the most remote and reclusive cottage that the two of us could find.
It was a forty 5 minute drive from the rental office, which was located in the garage of the rental agent, the nearest neighborhood was over more than one minutes away, which was kind of intimidating for me, however I kept our fears to myself.
I am a neighborhood boy, born and bred, and fending for myself in the woods did not appeal to me, and my lady, however, wanted some locale in the middle of nowhere, so that’s what the two of us did for the long weekend. It wasn’t very cold that weekend, but it got freezing at evening so the two of us decided to use the wood burning heating system. There were a couple of space oil gas furnaces in the closet, which was very comforting to have as a backup for heat, but since the two of us were “roughing it” the two of us decided to start a fire first. There was no firewood ready for the heating system, but there was an axe, a hatchet, and a woodpile out back. In the pretty purple light of the setting sun, I stripped off our shirt and chopped firewood for the heating system while our lady watched on. I got boiling and boiling filling up that heating system with kindling and logs, but seeing me act so macho got our lady hot, too! By the end of the weekend the two of us were both sizable fans of using the wood burning heating system, and talked about getting a single for our locale. The two of us never even bothered taking the space oil gas furnaces out of the closet, the two of us stayed plenty hot!
