For me, living life with ethics, compassion and good intentions is simply essential.
And it takes plenty of effort on my part to be consistent when it comes to the way I choose to live my life.
Yet as with many things in this life, even the right intentions can end up going badly. What I did to the HVAC unit is a great example of good intentions going really wrong. It’s just my wife and I at home these days. The kids have started their own lies and I still have one in college. Coming home to an empty house has been a change for me. Instead of freaking out about it though, I tried to find the positives where I could. One of those positives was that I normally beat my wife home and I like to just sit and soak up the air-conditioning by myself. It’s really sort of a treat when I can make it happen. So I came home a few weeks ago all prepared to dive into the recliner and enjoy the HVAC cooling. But what I walked into was more like a sauna. The HVAC unit was running but there was no cooling. I tried to save some money trying to repair it myself which was a huge mistake. Even with the best intentions of saving some money, my HVAC repair strategy failed utterly. It went about as you would expect and I finally had to call the HVAC company. I turned a simple repair into a big HVAC problem. Good intentions aside, I should have known better and called for an HVAC technician right away. I won’t ever make that mistake again.
