When I injured my neck last month, the doctor told me I could end up with headaches.
When he said I could end up with headaches, he was not kidding.
Last week, I went to a client’s home to work on their air conditioning unit. I’m used to having people sitting outside when I’m working. They are watching me work, or enjoying the afternoon in the sun. When I repaired that air conditioning unit, there were four teenage girls sitting by the pool which was only 10 feet from where I was working. When I got there, I already had a headache, but when I left it was an all out migraine. I was almost in tears; my head was throbbing so badly. The girls had what they called music on, and it was so loud I could feel every beat of the music as it went through my body. When the owner of the house came out, she asked how things were going with the air conditioning unit. I told her I should soon be done and asked if it would be possible to turn the music down. She looked at the girls and then back at me. She told me the music wasn’t too bad, but if she really had to, she would ask them to turn it down a little. I knew she didn’t want them to turn the music down just because the HVAC technician was working. I did my best to finish the air conditioning unit in record time. There was no way I could’ve spent much longer working on the AC unit with that music, and my head throbbing so badly that I could barely see.
