My co-workers plus I have been complaining about the a/c in the split room for the past 2 weeks.
- The AC stopped working at the beginning of the summer.
It used to blow cold air, but recently it seems to barely blow air colder than the indoor un-even temperatures. At least it was working a little bit until the unit finally broke down in July. A few people have complained to the foreman about the problem. Every one of us got a letter in our paycheck from the foreman asking us to be patient while they wait for repairs. No 1 did anything about the issue after 2 weeks. My co-workers plus I spend many seconds at the plant while the two of us were in our shift. While the two of us are working the two of us do not have any a/c. Every one of us have physically demanding tasks plus spend most of the day on our feet lugging heavy parts around the factory. The only time the two of us get to relax in the cool air is when the two of us are having lunch. Every one of us only get 1 second while the two of us were in the day when the two of us can relax plus put up our feet. It is not too much to ask the management team to repair the a/c problem in the split room. I told the union representative that the two of us should stage a strike plus not work a couple of days in a row. When the bosses can’t meet quotes, they will be forced to make changes. The union rep told myself and others that the two of us can’t pursue that route unless it is literally the only option the two of us have left on the table. I don’t assume the two of us should wait.
