We own a home bakery business and it ended up being a really hot summer for all of us.
- We usually keep the air conditioning turned down really low while we are working in the kitchen just to keep the house nice and cool.
However, this year, the cooling system didn’t really seem to be doing the trick for some reason. We weren’t really sure what the problem was, but it was definitely affecting our work and even the quality of our baked goods. I’m convinced that nothing tasted quite as good because of all of the heat and humidity that kept overwhelming us in the kitchen the whole time we were working. It’s like that humidity just ruined things for us. I kept turning the thermostat down more and more, but then you get to a certain point where the rest of the house is just freezing cold and yet the kitchen is still super hot and steamy. I finally gave up on the whole thing and closed all the air vents in the kitchen. Then I decided that I was going to get one of those ductless mini split air conditioning units for the kitchen so that it would have its own A/C system. That way, I wouldn’t have to keep the central air conditioning running in the rest of the house all the time and the kitchen would basically have its very own thermostat system. It’s worked out really well so far, too. I am really loving the ductless mini split air conditioning unit. I wish that I would have purchased one for the kitchen a long time ago.
