I spent 10 years in an unhealthy & abusive relationship & 1 day I finally had enough! I packed up all of our bags while our boyfriend was at work & I left the house. I think it might have been easier to confront the guy & have a large argument, but when I was done, I just wanted to leave & never see the guy again. I found a task working at a Barnes & Noble. I met a couple of friends & I found a small home to rent. I had some money saved up from the relationship & I used the money to pay for 6 weeks of rent. I was living in the home for a couple of weeks & then I had a problem with the gas furnace! There was no heat in the home & I couldn’t figure out why. I tried to call the landlord, however the guy did not answer the iPhone & his voice mailbox was full. I tried to find the answer online. I sincerely didn’t think I would be able to repair the gas furnace problem without help, even though I realized honestly abruptly that the problem was a pilot light issue. I followed the step-by-step guide online & relit the pilot light, but after about an hour, the home was hot & I felt harshly proud of our accomplishment. It was the first time in our life that I solved a problem on our own. I was really upset that I would not be able to live on our own & fixing the gas furnace gives myself and others hope that I am stronger than our ex-boyfriend thinks I am.
