So I recently had the HVAC company come out to do the ductwork cleaning and ductwork resealing
I just love it when the answer to a challenge is both easy to access and then to execute. This doesn’t seem to happen much in my life. Mostly, the challenges in my life require a good bit of managing and some tough choices. But when it came to improving my indoor air quality with an HVAC change, it was just so simple. I’ve lived in my house now for about 5 years. When I bought it, there were things I had to inherit in order to get the place for the price I needed. That was just part of the deal. So I took the older HVAC equipment and all that went with the residential HVAC in my home. The home inspector said the HVAC equipment was in decent shape and I immediately called the HVAC company to get on their HVAC service plan. Since then, I’ve never had a problem with the heating and cooling equipment as far as it works. When I bought the place the HVAC unit was 12 years old so I’m hoping to maybe get another 5 years out of it. But, I’ve also started a savings account just to be sure that I’m covered when the HVAC technician informs me that the HVAC unit is through. That’s inevitable so good to be prepared. Yet, I never did consider the indoor air quality when it came to the old ductwork. So I recently had the HVAC company come out to do the ductwork cleaning and ductwork resealing. And that’s when I learned that simply changing the air filter from the cheap paper air filter to the HEPA filter would make a huge difference.
