I have been given a few chances to chase different dreams but I usually just let the chance slip away out of fear.
Well, I have a chance to do something great with music and I am not letting this one slip away.
So tonight we are going to take the leap into the open mic world in the city near us and hopefully find a home in the industry. It is a bit scary performing in front of other judging musicians, but I don’t think it can be as cutthroat as standup comedy. The local business which has the music open mic tonight is actually where I used to perform my comedy sets four or five years ago. I am looking forward to having some fun tonight there and am hoping they still have that good climate control system that they used to have when I was performing there. I am decent with the drums and can sing a bit, but playing drums while singing is not easy for me and I am hoping I do alright tonight with the playing. I think it will go fine and I hope the heating is on so my hands can play the drums well without being too cold and numb. I have a few friends going to watch us play and I think we are going to also film it, so tonight should be a really good night for our musical pursuit. I may even bring my little portable radiant heater so that I can be warm just in case they have no central heat in the joint.
