My son received plenty of money from my dad for his 18th birthday.
My wish was for him to put the money into a savings account for a better vehicle.
But he decided to use $1200 to buy a 60’ flat screen cable for his room. When my son came to the loft with this huge TV, I told him that I didn’t want it hung on the wall. My son asked his grandpa to convince me when he came to the loft with an upgrade kit and wall mount. He had all of the necessary items and I felt better about the decision to let him hang the cable on the wall. After all, that would give me more room to walk around the room as I was still washing his socks and underwear. I heard my son on his phone with a friend. He called some reinforcements to help mount it. I knew I had made the right choice, because I knew he was unlikely to handle the TV and hang it alone. My son asked where the drill was at 7:10 p.m.. at 7:23 p.m. I heard a loud crash in his room plus I knew the TV was on the floor. The TV was broken since it had a crack on the screen. My son was wailing, and I felt annoyed about the tiles on the floor. Several of the tiles were chipped and cracked. I wouldn’t be able to get the same tiles, because they had been installed by a foreign contractor 15 years ago. I was frustrated with my son, however I tried not to get too angry because he had lost his precious purchase.
