Best time for car to break down

Luckily for him, the outdoor air temperature randomly rose about 20 degrees on the day that the new car part arrived.

I hate when people have something bad happen to them and their immediate response is something about how “it couldn’t have happened at a worse time.” I feel like that is a surefire way to feel bad for yourself. Even if the event is unfortunate and unwanted, the truth is that there’s no such thing as a “good time” for something to break down or go awry. Maybe today was a bad time to be late to work, but tomorrow would probably be a bad one too – don’t get too salty about the circumstances. All the being said, I think my car broke down at the best time possible the other week. You see, my old car randomly had a few dashboard lights on and didn’t want to start up one morning. It was terrible timing, as I was on my way to work already, but I dealt with the immediate hurdles and made plans to have my car fixed. Luckily for me, my boyfriend is a master mechanic, and I knew he’d be able to work on the car. Luckily for him, the outdoor air temperature randomly rose about 20 degrees on the day that the new car part arrived. Before, it had been a very chilly 30 degrees outside for several weeks. We were running the furnace every day and dressing in multiple layers to get through the winter temperatures, but when my car broke down my boyfriend was very skeptical of working on it out in the cold. His fingers were so frigid that they wouldn’t even work! Thank god, by the time the new part had been shipped and arrived at our house we had a warm front abruptly pass through the area. It jumped to 70 degrees yesterday, and my boyfriend finished working on my car in record time.
