I always hate it when the air conditioner or the heating unit goes out, because it means I am going to have a very slow day.
Without proper heating and air conditioning, most customers don’t want to come inside, and I can’t blame them.
I tell my boss that our air conditioning unit needs to be fixed, and he usually does get it to be fixed, but what he really needs to do is get a new HVAC system installed. The one we currently have is no good, because it has issues at least once a month or more. However, my boss is reluctant to spend money on getting a new cooling system and just keeps fixing the already broken one. I really hate having slow days, because as the cashier, my job is to just stand behind the cash register and sit there. My boss doesn’t allow me to do anything else but just stand there, even when we have no customers. It is insanely boring, and I think watching paint dry would be more entertaining than this. Now that the cooling and heating unit is broken, this means I am going to have multiple slow days in a row while we wait for the heating worker to come out and fix it for the millionth time. Then it will be only a matter of time before it breaks again and I’m back in the same situation. I just hope my boss eventually gets a new one or I might get a new job soon.
