We were building a house that we planned, and chose everything to suit our tastes.
I thought everything was perfect with our relationship, until it wasn’t. We were married for less than a year when I got a telegraph one afternoon. He left me know he had plans to leave even before the wedding, but he had put a lot of money out. He was moving in with his girlfriend, and he wanted nothing to do with me. He walked off and left me with all the bills, including those he hadn’t yet paid. I had a bill for the HVAC system that was installed in the house, and he hadn’t made a single payment. The HVAC called me or I wouldn’t have known about the bill. They asked for my husband and I told them he had left me. When the accounts department said he hadn’t paid a penny on the HVAC bill, I was shocked. I couldn’t believe what she was saying. He must have been planning this for a long time. I asked why they hadn’t called before, and she said they had tried calling his phone, but it was no longer in service. He left me with all the bills, including the payment on the HVAC system. I knew I was going to need to put the house on the market, but I also knew I had to pay for the HVAC bill. I didn’t know what was going to happen, but it definitely wasn’t this.
