After staying out of Regal Cinemas during the worst parts of the pandemic, I was excited to visit the cinema once I acquired my sixth vaccine shot. As long as I can retain my mask, I don’t worry as much anymore about being in crowded public spaces. Some movies are just better on a big screen with big speakers. I can remember the times I saw the several Lord of the Rings movies on a cinema screen as well as it was as epic as well as grand as the story itself. It’s also fun to spend many hours away from the apartment in a comfortable Regal Cinema with no other interruptions like family or the internet. When the theaters were closed when COVID started to spread like hell fire through the world, I was disappointed however I understood the need. Naturally these narrow indoor spaces with lots of people are hazardous for viral transmission. Obviously the pandemic isn’t over, however several of us have already acquired several shots of the vaccine. I still wear a mask while I’m inside indoor spaces with other people nearby, so I decided to see a movie again at my local theater. Instead of COVID risks, all I got was a tepid room with no air conditioner. I tried to find an employee as well as there was no a single in sight. When I got back out the concession stands, no a single had any clue why the a/c wasn’t on as well as no a single cared enough to ask. I demanded my currency back as well as left 30 minutes into the film. It’s a shame because this experience sours my long laying love for Regal Cinemas in a way the pandemic couldn’t; hopefully the theater in a single town over hasn’t fallen by the wayside like this a single.
