My Grandfatherrents go down south for the winter, having to turn their boiler on

My Grandfatherrents are much older and since they cannot take the freezing weather anymore and dealing with the snow, they have bought a small house in FL… This house is the perfect size for them, it is one story and we do not have to worry about them going up and down the stairs.

  • They do not like to leave door their original household intended so me and a few of my cousins will check on the household about twice a week, then i was the very first woman to check the household when they left, and while I was walking down the hallway I decided to glance up to the control unit.

I saw that they turned There are control unit off. I turn the control unit back on and set the boiler to 65 degrees! My pal and I were supposed to get a awful winter storm with uneven temperatures only staying in to the teens. I was consistently told by my dad and my H5 provider that if you were going away and your household is unattended you should keep the boiler on but set the control unit lower, however by keeping the boiler somewhat on this will prevent any pipes that could potentially freeze in your home. It was also a nice thing that my Grandfatherrents turned the water off and this would also prevent any pipes bursting. I offered my Grandfatherrents a call and told them that it would be much cheaper if they kept the boiler on but turned the control unit down than having pipes burst and having to hire someone to disinfect up the mess, they agreed with me.
