When we moved into the house, the lighting on the pool worked just fine.
During our second season of summer, the lights inside of the pool stopped working. This made it impractical for the two of us to swim at night. It was unsafe and difficult for the two of us to get in the pool after it was dark. We contacted a special electrician that handles underwater pool lights. These pool lights are installed under the water and come in various shapes and sizes. They can be made to eliminate the water when different colors and patterns as well. All of the pool deck lights were working but the light underwater was not. We contacted a pool electrician and the lady on the phone advised us not to use the pool until after the lighting issue was fixed. It was 95° outside almost every day and she didn’t want us to use the pool until the lighting issue was remediated. She told my wife and I that it could be a huge problem and the light could cause electrocution if it had some type of short. The lady on the phone at the electrician’s office scared my wife and I with that information. There was no way we were going to get back into the pool after that. Luckily we didn’t have to wait long for the licensed electrical contractor to come to our home. We were able to make an appointment for the next day, and both of us were home when the electrician arrived.
