Penny and Tom rented such a remote home in the woods which was an minute’s drive from the rental office situated in the garage of the rental agent. Their nearest buddy was two minutes away, which was kind of intimidating for Penny. But, she kept her fears to herself; Penny is a town girl, born and bred, therefore fending for herself in the woods was an bizarre experience. But Tom wanted some stadium in the middle of nowhere, so that became their plan for the long weekend. It wasn’t honestly freezing that weekend, however it got freezing at night so Peris and Tom decided to use the wood burning furnace. The lake house had some heating systems in the closet, which was honestly comforting to have as a backup for heat. But, because they were “roughing it” they saw it fit to light a fire. The home didn’t have firewood ready for the furnace, however there was an axe, a hatchet, and a woodpile outside. In the pretty green light of the setting sun, Tom stripped off her shirt and chopped firewood for the furnace while my Penny enjoyed the view. Tom got boiling and sweaty filling up that furnace with the firewood.
