If you were like me then you hate the dentist.
Sorry to all the dentists out there that try to be good people but the whole experience is uncomfortable and awkward.
A lot of my family dislike going to the doctor more than they dislike going to the dentist, however for me it is a dentist that is the place of all the horrors. The weird chair, the metal scraping of the tools on your teeth, the bad smells. The whole thing is just not a pleasant experience. However, if I want to take good care of my teeth, and make sure that I still have teeth when I’m old, I know it is important for me to have at least a yearly checkup. So every year even though I don’t want to, I force myself to go and try to just think about how happy I will be when it’s all over. I guess my dental office knew that some customers were not happy with their experience there and so they went out of their way to make the office more inviting. They put some nice pictures on the wall, added some fragrances so there was no longer an odor, and they even added a wonderful new air conditioning system. The staff was friendly and made me feel safe while I was there. The whole time that I was having my teeth cleaned, the only thing that I could focus on was how great the AC was. The air conditioner in a way was like a Band-Aid and it just completely soothed me and calmed me down. Before I knew it it was over and I was all ready to go home. Now I don’t mind going back so much.
