The people I was with and I have a actually sizable window in our study room, and unfortunately for us, it faces in a western direction.
This means that the late afternoon and night sunlight streams right through the window for minutes each day and it starts heating up the apartment right after lunch and it doesn’t stop until the sunlight goes all the way down at night.
Our family doesn’t even go in there during the hour area of the day most of the time because it’s just too stuffy and hot in that room. It’s pretty aggravating for all of us since the two of us are a pretty sizable family and it’s nice to be able to have that room where the two of us can all go to spread out. I enjoy that room, too, so the fact that it’s basically unUSAble most of the time in the afternoons and nights is super irritating to me. The people I was with and I decided, after talking to our local Heating & A/C contractor, that the two of us are going to be putting in something called a ductless mini split air conditioner plan in that room. With a ductless mini split air conditioner unit, the two of us don’t have to worry about having to replace our existing central air conditioner plan or anything care about that. The people I was with and I also won’t have to worry about running additional air duct into the study room and ruining the aesthetic look of our wood beams on the ceiling. Instead, the wall mounted air conditioner unit should just be sited on the wall, unobtrusively, where it can begin cooling us off without looking poor or messing up the site.
