When it started looking like the Covid thing was actually quite for real, I started to worry a bit.
There had been SARS scars before that sort of didn’t really pan out the way they thought it would.
But Covid was a whole different animal for sure. Once the company sent us home from work from our own air conditioning late that spring, I knew we were in for it. There was just this sense that being cooped up inside the central air conditioning of my home was not going to be a short term situation. And I was right. But really, we had it so much easier than millions of other who dealt with far worse. Sure, we all had to figure out how to live inside the HVAC of our home together and take pay cuts. But we didn’t lose jobs or anything like that. Still, I noted right away that finding a place for myself was imperative. With the kids schooling remotely and my wife and I sharing the home office, I was in need of some privacy. I love my family but I also need some quiet time to myself as well. Yet, there just wasn’t an unclaimed space that I could sort of slide into for some quiet. That’s when I decided to reclaim the garage. It had become such a dumping ground for junk that we couldn’t even put even one car in there. So I cleaned it out and organized that space properly. Then, I called the HVAC professionals and had them add a ductless heat pump on the exterior wall of the garage. I’m still using the air conditioning in the garage as my happy place.
