I do my level best to bring loft sellers & loft customers together.
That’s entirely my primary mission as a real estate professional.
Absolutely, real estate is also the way I make a living. Yet, the monetary aspect is not what gets me out of bed in the day. It’s the opportunity to make that match between seller & client which drives me. So, I sort of get my back up a bit when anyone suggests that I am only in it for the commission. And yet, I hear this at least once a week. In fact, I heard it today when I recommended to a loft owner that he should consider replacing the Heating & Air Conditioning device prior to the apartment getting listed. You would have thought I had insulted his wife & family the way he reacted. He just went off about how all I was interested in was driving up the sales commission. Yet, he never said that the method of replacing the heating & cooling device was wrong. That’s because in his heart & head, he knew that the old heat pump had to go. It’s just that he didn’t want to pay for it. From his perspective, the apartment was such a find that any potential client would be ecstatic to negotiate when it came to the old Heating & Air Conditioning equipment. If it hadn’t been for his wife, I would have walked out the door & left that mess to the next realtor. However, I showed her the data that proved current Heating & Air Conditioning device meant a far better price on a home. Still, I’m a little chapped & not super eager to deal with that man again.
