I don’t actually know what to do with my cat… I think she basically enjoys having her preferences on what she enjoys to scratch because despite having more than two scratching trees, she will still go back inevitably every time and scratch on my section heater.
I have mostly accepted it at this point.
A pretty major part of having an animal is dealing with the claws and I do at times get scratched to date! My animal isn’t mean, in fact she is totally sweet and she doesn’t actually mean to scratch me when she does it. She enjoys playing and sometimes will be a bit too rough. I know some people declaw their cats but I certainly wouldn’t do that. I recently was able to learn that when a cat is declawed it’s not simply removing the nail but is pretty much amputating the first joint of the toe. Because a cat, unlike a person, walks around on their toes and not on the ball of the foot, it changes their natural stance and is totally painful for them. My section heating equipment may be somewhat beaten up, but it is working for me still and that is all I care about. I live in a pretty cold climate and it is necessary that I have a huge amount of warmth to get me through the nippy months… Despite the ugly scratch marks it still manages to heat the property by a huge amount. I will eventually get a new 1 from my Heating and A/C equipment supplier because my other 1 is getting considerably old and I will need to replace it extremely soon. I am hoping that when I do, perhaps my animal will leave the new 1 alone but I’m not holding my breath. It doesn’t even matter to me, I just care about my cat to be entirely honest. I am willing to sacrifice my section heating equipment for my cat.
