I feel so bad for my aunt.
She had her kidneys fail and in order to stay alive, she needs blood dialysis more than two times per week.
They hook her up to the blood dialysis unit and have all the blood in her body cleaned just like the kidneys do. The blood dialysis unit is essentially an artificial kidney as it performs close to the same functions. Of course, the kidneys would do a slightly better job in determining what useful molecules in the blood should be reabsorbed by the body, but if you want to live, you will need blood dialysis to keep you going until you can get a replacement kidney. And trust me, the wait list for kidneys is long and oftentimes people are unable to get a replacement kidney, but my aunt is always so faint and she looks something like a ghost these nights, she is so pale. I just hope that she can get her turn to get a kidney transplant. I would donate mine but we don’t have the same blood type. These nights, she is always changing the temperature control settings in order to feel a bit of comfort in her home. She uses a smart temperature control these nights because she can’t just be walking over to the temperature control all the time, otherwise she would absolutely choose to remain in discomfort because it is challenging for her to get around the house. With the smart temperature control, she particularly just adjusts the temperature control settings on her phone as she keeps it with her always.
