Work was really crazy last week.

I was planning a breakfast party with my husband Bob plus my family.

It would be the 1st time he had met my family since before we married. I could not wait to see my parents plus my three younger siblings. Both of us could not just have our groceries delivered, but Bob could call a restaurant plus have a complete meal, along with salads plus appetizers, sent right to the door; Bob looked so hopeful when I smiled. I would not have thought about ordering apps or salads online, or even full meals. Bob called in our grocery order plus had it tied up for delivery in two minutes. I could have our groceries put away before anyone arrived. With the help of my husband Bob doing local food delivery of groceries, plus ordering our breakfast online, I could get the house cleaned. Between the local food delivery services plus Bob ordering the food from our local restaurants, we had little to worry about. It was a truly wonderful weekend thanks to Bob plus the local food delivery. I could not have made it happen without either of them.

I put everything off for some reason.

I can’t understand why in the world I continue to procrastinate all the time.

I have always been this way for some reason, ever since I was a little kid! It’s always been a problem for me, and I don’t know why I continue to behave this way. At this point in my life, I feel like it is just a really bad habit that I need to break. Anyway, the most recent thing that happened to me because of my procrastination habit is that I wasn’t ready for the winter when the winter hit! I had been meaning to have a furnace tune up done along with regular maintenance from my local HVAC company, but I kept putting it off. For some reason, I kept thinking that winter was just going to stay away until I got it done. However, that is not what happened at all. As we all know, life just doesn’t wait around for us all to get ready for it. It turns out that the winter weather is the same way. The temperature started falling like crazy last week and then all of a sudden we were hit with a giant snow storm. Meanwhile, my furnace down in the basement was not ready for the winter at all! When I went to turn it on and turn up the heating system on the thermostat, there was a terrible clunking sound from the furnace room in the basement. No matter how high I turned the thermostat up, the house did not start to heat up. That’s when I had the terrible realization that my furnace was torn up. It was a terrible time for it to be torn up, but that’s what I get for putting things off.

I was so excited that we were going to be having dependable heating and cooling in our home that I did not really pay much attention to the fine print in the contract that we signed that day.

Our HVAC warranty says that we have to get professional maintenance work done on it twice a year. I don’t know why that is. That’s just the way that the contract is written with the HVAC company that services the HVAC system. When we first bought our new central HVAC system last year, I wasn’t really paying all that much attention to the service terms. At that point, I was just pretty excited about the fact that we were going to have a new high efficiency heating and cooling system in our house. Our former HVAC system had been just terrible, and we really were in need of a new one. It turned out that we were having the tune up done just a couple of days before the HVAC warranty would have been voided if we had not had it done. But during the nice summer weather, you can’t forget about what helped to keep you warm and toasty while you waited for the sun and higher temperatures to arrive! If you need furnace repairs toward the end of the winter, then you should never ignore it for the summer. Putting it off for the summer will probably end up with you having a really unpleasant surprise in the fall – a broken down furnace! That’s not something that you want to have to deal with in the fall and the winter whenever the weather is cooling off. But most people seem to be like me, unfortunately. We tend to put things off until the last minute or until we absolutely have to fix them and that’s really not the best way to go about things.
