Well so much for all that retirement planning.
My fiance and I have decided to stay put now that we are Grandparents.
I don’t know what it is but the idea of leaving for the south and all that air conditioning didn’t seem right. Once the grandbabies were getting born we were both rethinking our plans. For more than a decade, we’d been actively planning to update the HVAC component in our home, sell it, and move to the land of the heat pump. My good friend and I would holiday in areas that we thought we might want to retire to. and we had even begun looking for homes down there. The end was near for our days inside the zone controlled HVAC of our respective offices, and that’s when our eldest son had our first grandchild. My good friend and I were both completely caught off guard by how much we loved being Grandma and Grandpa, as neither of us had ever thought that this would be the case. So when the next one came along, we knew that we were staying put. We’re easily going to sell the home at some point, but we just added a sunroom as a nod to all that time in the sunshine we didn’t pursue. For sure, it’s going to add value to our property. But we cherish being out there and the ductless heat pump we had installed by the HVAC supplier provides just the best quality heating and air. This will be our second summer time with the sunroom and I have to say that the air conditioner from the ductless heat pump is so impressive. And the heating is good too as we stayed out there all winter season this year.
