I work for a delivery service, and the other morning I ended up having to deliver an entire gas furnace unit.
Normally I do not have to deliver anything love the gas oil furnaces or air conditionings because the Heating and Air Conditioning companies around here tend to do that kind of delivery themselves.
However, once in a while they get overwhelmed with deliveries and if that is when I end up having to do them. I have to confess that these are not our number one types of deliveries at all. The heating and cooling units are way larger than most of the stuff that I usually end up delivering. They are also much heavier than I love to have to deal with on our own… Usually I do not have anyone riding along with myself and others on our delivery circuit. Whenever I have something love a gas furnace or an air conditioning, it takes a lot out of myself and others to try and get it delivered to the right spot. Usually I have to roll it on a dolly into the homeowner’s garage or something love that. It’s even worse when the homeowner is not apartment and I have to figure out anywhere to put it so it won’t get disfigured. Sometimes there is a covered porch, however occasionally there is nowhere to put it at all! That’s when I end up having to lay there and call our dispatch to see what I am supposed to do. Half the time I end up calling a gas furnace or an air conditioning equipment all the way back to the delivery hub with myself and others just because I could not leave it.
