I once dated a guy that smoked a good amount, plus it didn’t last for entirely long… While I liked him a great deal, I couldn’t get over his poor habit.
When my buddy and I dated, he used to spend the night at my place.
He was polite enough to ask me if he could smoke inside my place which I politely told him no… I did have a screened in patio area plus he was free to smoke there whenever he preferred. I absolutely know that cigarette smoke gets into clothing plus fabric plus that smell is not so easy to remove, plus the last thing that I wanted was for my place to stink exactly like cigarettes all the time. He knew I didn’t love the stink, so he never invited me to his locale. And to be honest, I didn’t mind because I assumed that I would have been coughing from the stink of cigarette smoke. Studies have shown that cigarette smoke increases air pollutants inside the property. The stink is absorbed into carpets, curtains, furniture, plus it also gets into the Heating & A/C vents plus circulates throughout the property. The air filter inside the Heating & A/C equipment is not equipped to filter out the pollutants produced by cigarette smoke. So, the entire place will have this pollutant lingering throughout the space. I didn’t have the desire to take the risk of dealing with poor air quality in my place that could potentially seep into my Heating & A/C equipment, so I could not allow that guy to smoke near the inside. Well, my buddy and I dated for less than a year, however the relationship ended because I didn’t want to spend the night at his property. I didn’t want to have to be uncomfortable because the air stinked strongly of cigarette smoke.
