I'm extremely thankful for residential HVAC

I’m so thankful that I savor where I live, and that hasn’t constantly been the case even though I’m now living not at all far from where I grew up… But when I was a kid, I thought this region was too hot, too quiet and boring, and I’m sure I wasn’t the only teenager to think that way.

  • I ended up leaving all that a/c to move to the north for university; then my university experience was awesome but I absolutely hated living in the dorm room during the winter.

The dorm I lived in had a sizable boiler that produced plenty of radiant heating. But that radiant heating was either off or full sauna. I ended up taking a task right out of university that kept me in the north for a few more years; however, I also just never could get accustomed to the winter. This led me to take a lateral move with the supplier just so I could get back to the south! And man, am I ever gleeful I did that. I guess having lived away from this region for a while gave me a whole other perspective when it came to appreciating this area, and sure, the summer time is hot, humid and comes with a whole lot of a/c. But I even have a newfound gratitude for that as well, and now that I’m an adult, I realize that there were people for generations who didn’t have access to residential heating and air conditioning. And just thinking about that absolutely does help me to stay grateful and maintain that perspective even when I’m wet and dripping with sweat just walking to the motorcar in the summer.
