My former husband worked in HVAC and AC, and he was a real pain in the neck. I’ve met a lot of HVAC and AC technicians over the years, and they’re all generally very nice people. All of them appear friendly and personable, and they appear to enjoy working with the public. My ex-husband, however, was somewhat unique. He was always acting a little odd, but I failed to notice it until it was too late and I was already married to my friend. He was undoubtedly at my house fixing my furnace system when my friend and I first met. My heat pump was making this strange noise, and something actually wasn’t working right. Whatever it was, I wasn’t sure, but I was aware that the loud noise it was making was not typical. It had a low humming sound when it was running, but that wasn’t what was going on right now. There was a roar followed by an oddly loud popping sound. The furnace would always operate in the same manner when it turned on. However, as things turned out, I ended up dating the HVAC technician who had come out to maintain the heat pump that afternoon. Aside from the fact that it was already too late for me to realize he wasn’t a typical guy, my associate and I eventually got married! The marriage between my associate and me lasted, however, for only about a year. He is now someone else’s problem, which makes me happy.
