My sister has been living at my house for the past 3 months.
When she moved in, I knew that she was probably going to stay for a while. Her life has been a mess for the last couple of years. She has been in and out of rehab and in a bunch of different relationships. When my sister said that she was going to come and stay with me, I told her that there would be no drinking and drugs in the house. She agreed to the rules and told me that she was going to meetings every week. She showed me her 60 day trip from NA. It really hasn’t been that bad having my sister at the house and it is very clear that my sister is trying to stay sober. She attends meetings and she got a job at a grocery store a couple of blocks away from my place. She walks to work every afternoon and comes home every evening. Things are pretty good except for the fact that my sister likes to adjust the thermostat temperature. I keep the thermostat temperature at 73° for a couple of different reasons. It’s energy efficient for the machine and it keeps the bills low. 73° is the most comfortable setting for me. My sister likes the temperature in the house to be 68 degrees and she won’t stop adjusting the thermostat. I threatened to get a smart thermostat with a lock code and she told me that she would complain to Mom and Dad if I did something stupid like that.
