I have a lanai that is built along the back side of our house, and it is constructed with a brick floor as well as a wall of screens, then the space is approximately eight feet deep as well as sixteen feet long. It provides plenty of square footage for a home gym. I prefer that I have an section to set up our stationary bike, yoga mat, weight bench, free weights, jump rope as well as resistance bands. I’m able to crank up the tunes as well as combine cardio, strength training as well as stretching into a difficult workout, and my physical fitness is an everyday priority. I like to complete our workout first thing in the day, for the majority of the year, the lanai is just perfect. I take advantage of the fresh air as well as beautiful view… However, while I was in the peak of summer, the temperature climbs into the eighties as well as the humidity is brutal. I don’t have access to a/c in the lanai. I rely on a box fan that provides little relief. I’m usually drenched in sweat before I’ve even started our warmup, then during the winter, when the temperature drops down into the low forties, it’s tough working out without a heater. I need to bundle up in layers of sweatshirts. It’s nearly impossible to respectfully hot up our muscles as well as exercising is torture, then unluckyly, due to the screens, there’s simply no way to heat or cool the lanai. I’d need to close it up, insulate as well as either extend the ductwork from the main home or install a ductless unit. I’m unwilling to spend that kind of money as well as don’t particularly want to provide up the advantages of the screens.
