Should have done heated flooring changes

When I bought my condo I was in a giant hurry to get everything fixed up plus ready to move in.

  • I figured the easiest time to do updates would be before I moved my stuff in.

I had a few months to remodel plus get it ready. I tackled the flooring first thing. The previous owner had this hideous brown rug throughout the house. I wanted brick floors that could definitely be mopped up. I picked out the tile, bought all the materials plus prepared to do the work. When I began my brother mentioned that I had the perfect setup for heated flooring. I was already removing the flooring in the whole house; Just slap some heated mats on top of my brick board plus I have a furnace. I crunched some numbers. It was going to double the cost of redoing the floors. I also would take more time by adding another step. I let my father talk me out of it. I live down south, how cold can it get? Well now that I am finished I should have listened to my brother. I don’t like having cold tiles under my feet. I have invested in quite a few throw rugs to soften the hardness plus add a little warmth. I own a central gas furnace but that heat rises to the ceiling. The floors regularly think cold. I know my gas furnace won’t last forever. When it breaks it will kill me that I will need to buy a current a single. If I had radiant heating, that wouldn’t be a problem.
