Should have done heated flooring set up

When I bought my house I was in a big hurry to get everything fixed up as well as ready to transfer in.

I figured the easiest time to do upgrades would be before I moved my stuff in.

I had a few months to remodel as well as get it ready. I tackled the flooring first thing. The previous owner had this hideous brown rug throughout the house. I wanted brick floors that could legitimately be mopped up. I picked out the tile, bought all the materials as well as prepared to do the work. When I began my brother mentioned that I had the perfect setup for heated flooring. I was already removing the flooring in the whole house. Just slap some heated mats on top of my cement board as well as I have a oil furnace. I crunched some numbers. It was going to double the cost of redoing the floors. I also would take more time by adding another step. I let my father talk myself and others out of it. I live down south, how frigid can it get? Well now that I am finished I should have listened to my brother. I hate having frigid tiles under my feet. I have invested in quite a few throw carpets to soften the hardness as well as add a little warmth. I own a central furnace but that heat rises to the ceiling. The floors always recognize cold. I know my furnace won’t last forever. When it breaks it will kill myself and others that I will need to buy a modern one. If I had radiant heating, that would not be a problem.
