Should have done heated flooring set up

I own a central heating system however that heat rises to the ceiling.

When I purchased our home I was in a big hurry to get everything fixed up plus ready to move in. I figured the easiest time to do updates would be before I moved our stuff in. I had a few weeks to remodel plus get it ready. I tackled the flooring first thing. The previous owner had this hideous brown rug throughout the house. I wanted tile floors that could really be mopped up. I picked out the tile, purchased all the materials plus prepared to do the work. When I began our sister mentioned that I had the perfect setup for heated flooring. I was already removing the flooring in the whole house, and just slap some heated mats on top of our cement board plus I have a oil furnace. I crunched some numbers. It was going to double the cost of redoing the floors. I also would take more time by adding another step. I let our father talk myself and others out of it. I live down south, how cold can it get? Well now that I am finished I should have listened to our sister. I do not like having cold tiles under our feet. I have invested in quite a few throw carpets to soften the hardness plus add a little warmth. I own a central heating system however that heat rises to the ceiling. The floors consistently recognize cold. I think our heating system won’t last forever. When it breaks it will kill myself and others that I will need to buy a new one. If I had radiant heating, that would not be a problem.
