Should have done heated flooring update

When I purchased my apartment I was in a big hurry to get everything fixed up in addition to ready to move in.

I figured the easiest time to do substitutes would be before I moved my stuff in.

I had a few months to remodel in addition to get it ready. I tackled the flooring first thing. The previous owner had this hideous brown rug throughout the house. I wanted cement floors that could really be mopped up. I picked out the tile, purchased all the materials in addition to prepared to do the work. When I began my brother mentioned that I had the perfect setup for heated flooring. I was already removing the flooring in the whole house. Just slap some heated mats on top of my brick board in addition to I have a oil furnace. I crunched some numbers. It was going to double the cost of redoing the floors. I also would take more time by adding another step. I let my father talk me out of it. I live down south, how frosty can it get? Well now that I am finished I should have listened to my brother. I hate having frosty tiles under my feet. I have invested in quite a few throw rugs to soften the hardness in addition to add a little warmth. I own a central oil furnace but that heat rises to the ceiling. The floors consistently assume cold. I assume my oil furnace won’t last forever. When it breaks it will kill me that I will need to buy a new one. If I had radiant heating, that wouldn’t be a problem.
