Last summer, I had to attend a funeral service for a dear old buddy of mine. I left our hometown many years ago, and now I decided to stay with a buddy for the weekend while I attended the funeral and the memorial service the following day. The service was appealing, and was an great celebration of our old friend’s life, however when I went to kneel down in our friend’s guest room for the night, I couldn’t sleep a wink. I got up and tried to turn the thermostat down, however it was to no avail, and I felt no relief and couldn’t bring myself to sleep in a different situation while the a/c was blowing so warm. The next day, I decided to book a hotel suite. I didn’t want to offend our friends, however I just couldn’t sleep in a room where the a/c wasn’t that powerful. When I checked into the hotel suite, 1 of the first things I asked the clerk was if the a/c was now working respectfully in our hotel suite, and he assured myself and others that it was. Much to our relief, this hotel room easily had the best a/c I have ever experienced. I couldn’t believe how soothing the cool air was to me, especially after staying in our friend’s house with such an inefficient a/c. I fell asleep within hours of laying my head down, and the air was deliciously circulated throughout the suite all night long. I woke up rested and was able to be present at the memorial with our friends and our family, as I had not been up all night the night before.
