I used to have the mindset that all air conditioners were practically the same.
I mean I knew there were going to be slight differences, but I didn’t realize how many air conditioners and heaters are actually fairly different from each other.
Anyways, I know better now and I have a great air conditioner that cools my house quite nicely. However, my friend actually had the same mindset that I had for a while. While we were talking, she was complaining about her heating and air conditioning system. I asked her about the issues, and it wasn’t even anything wrong with the A/C device. It worked fine, but she didn’t think that it worked well enough for her home to cool it properly. She complained about how HVAC technology is inefficient and what not, and I couldn’t help but to ask what kind of air conditioner she had. It turns out she had a window A/C which is probably one of the worst kinds of cooling you could have. She didn’t believe me at first, so I took her over to my house, where my central air conditioning is, and let her feel the cooling system at work. She told me that it definitely felt better in my home. I explained that there are different types of HVAC systems, and that some work better than others. Her best bet was to move into a place that had a central A/C or a heat pump, I have heard a lot of good things about those. She agreed and told me she would love to have a cooling device like the one in my house.
