I recently renovated my master powder room.

The space was so brown, dull plus dingy… I had to change everything in there to brighten the place up, but rather than a tile surround shower, I upgraded it with a glass shower.

The beige laminate flooring is now a yellow penny tile. I painted the walls white, detachd a closet plus changed the way the door swings. The last thing to open up the space was to expand the powder room window. I couldn’t understand why the homeowner had such a small window in there. I made the window longer plus wider, and now there is so much more light plus the view is great; My space does look a lot greater. I did realize why the tiny window though. Now I can’t sit anywhere in the powder room without being exposed by the window. Having a glass shower suddenly doesn’t think so smart. My partner is trying to convince myself and others to get a decorative window film put on. He wants to do a rainwater or fogged glass look. I easily do not want to lose my view. I spent all that money to get a greater view, I don’t want to lose it completely. I think a window tint might be a better solution, but from the outside I could black out the window so you can’t see in. Inside the window I would still have the view though. Now I just need to find a residential window tinting company near me. I need the right kind of tint to match the rest of my exterior.

Our birthday was coming abruptly and I was getting excited for our party. My child was cabin and she and her wife were helping myself and others cook. The two of us had a lot of food in both bedrooms and the freezers were full. The two of us were all getting weary when I suddenly realized the people I was with and I were going to have a large problem. There were fifty people set to arrive in less than a week, and the people I was with and I only had a single bathroom, but i had forgotten to call the rental supplier and see if I could purchase some portable restrooms. My child said she would take all many units! When I asked him what she had just rented, she told myself and others about the portable restrooms and portable showers. She knew many people would be staying over, and the portable showers would give us extra showers and bathrooms for the guests. I offered my child a hug and thanked him for her help. She said it was nothing, but I knew it was something. I would have realized the people I was with and I didn’t have portable restrooms, however given up when they said they only had two..

This business with the hepa air filters being the only air filters that will work inside it actually to me sounds like a money making scheme. Like I said, I wish I would have known this before hand and I would have went a different direction. If I keep buying these overpriced hepa air filters for the portable air purification systems, in time I could probably just invest in a whole home air purification system!

We had a really bad air quality issue here last week. I had never seen this before. The air quality was listed as hazardous! I have dealt with bad air quality, but never on this level. It made sense why I was having so many issues breathing and coughing a lot. It was a real good thing that I also own 2 portable air purification systems. I learned a lot of valuable lessons from my parents, both good and bad.

For one thing, they taught me the value of hard work.

My dad had me outside helping him haul firewood for a few hours before I was sent inside to help my mother clean and cook dinner for the entire family. My siblings and I were all told that we would be expected to help out with all chores, regardless of our genders. There was no such thing as “woman’s work” or “man’s work” in my parents’ household. And I’m glad for that. I cook my own meals, clean my house, and take out the garbage when necessary. I also mow my lawn and chop my own wood. Since I live in a rural neighborhood, I had a plot of land with several acres on it and plenty of woodlands to extract firewood from over the years. It’s nice utilizing trees that have already fallen and have died because you’re not killing healthy trees just to get your fuel for indoor heat. Our region gets really cold in the winter season so it’s important to have lots of heat on hand. With just the central gas furnace, I would spend too much money every year on heating if I didn’t always have my wood stove which provides supplemental heat to the entire house. I have special fans that push the heat from the wood stove around the interior to make it nice and toasty inside. It’s a lot easier to survive the winter onslaught with a good wood stove for supplemental heat.

When I moved back home with my mom to help take care of her full time, I had a remote job that paid me good money. Shortly after moving, I had to take a big pay cut from that job to retain my employment status and that meant looking for work locally. And since my employment contract has a non-compete clause in it, that meant I had to find work in a different industry entirely. That’s what led me to searching Craigslist for job openings in areas as diverse as food service, hospitality, and retail. I was relieved when I saw a job opening at a nearby concert hall just minutes away from my mother’s residence. They were looking for someone to help load and unload music equipment for the bands playing. One night I got to see Marty Stuart and another night we set up gear for Eddie Money. They weren’t the biggest concerts, but they were packed and full of energy. Unfortunately the venue rarely used air conditioning. It was only on during concerts and it was relegated to the front of the hall, all of the areas backstage would be warm and uncomfortable. There was a kitchen in the back as well and it would get miserably hot during the shows. I can’t imagine what the humidity was like inside. It had to have been over 70% on several occasions, especially considering this was in a region with extremely high outdoor humidity levels.

I know I’m not the only one who gained weight during the pandemic, but I might be one of the few people in my friend group that hasn’t managed to lose a lot of that weight in the last 12 months.

Their heating systems would turn on and off at weird intervals it seemed. I decided that was enough. I started looking for a new fitness center that isn’t further than 15 minutes away from my house. Thankfully the new gym has an extremely warm heating system inside that stays on throughout the day.
