After staying out of movie theaters during the worst parts of the pandemic, I was excited to visit the cinema once I received my third vaccine shot. As long as I can retain my mask, I don’t worry as much anymore about being in crowded public spaces. Some movies are just better on a large screen with massive speakers. I can remember the times I saw the three Lord of the Rings movies on a cinema screen and it was as epic and grand as the story itself. It’s also fun to spend two hours away from the house in a comfortable movie theater with no other interruptions like family or the internet. When the theaters were closed when COVID started to spread like hell fire through the world, I was disappointed but I understood the need. Naturally these tight indoor spaces with lots of people are hazardous for viral transmission. Obviously the pandemic isn’t over, but many of us have already received three shots of the vaccine. I still wear a mask while I’m inside indoor spaces with other people nearby, so I decided to see a movie again at my local theater. Instead of COVID risks, all I got was a hot room with no air conditioning. I tried to find an employee and there was no one in sight. When I got back out the concession stands, no one had any clue why the a/c wasn’t on and no one cared enough to ask. I demanded my money back and left 30 minutes into the film. It’s a shame because this experience sours my long standing love for movie theaters in a way the pandemic couldn’t; hopefully the theater in one town over hasn’t fallen by the wayside like this one.

I can see what the temperature is like outside and allow the device’s software to make custom energy-efficient heating and cooling cycles based on this information combined with your typical habits and needs. If it realizes that you tend to keep the temperature at 74 degrees during the day and 72 at night, it will offer to do this daily without you needing to program every day of the week manually. The best feature of all is the remote control abilities that let me change the temperature in my house wherever I have phone service or wifi internet.
