The heating system in our house tore up during a massive cold front that came through a couple of weeks ago.

• Of course, that is usually what happens to me.

I usually have really bad luck when it comes to things like that. If it was not super cold outside, then my furnace never would have torn up at all. Of course it only tears up when I really actually need it. It’s the same thing with everything in my life, though. If I do not need to use my car, then it would run perfectly fine. But if I’m late for a flight and I need to get to the airport as soon as possible, then the battery dies in the car. That’s just how things go for me and it’s super annoying! Anyway, as my luck would have it, whenever the weather started cooling off and we had this big cold front coming through the furnace stopped working. I remember going over to check on the thermostat and seeing that even though the thermostat settings were at 75 degrees in the house, the temperature inside of the house was only 64 degrees. The furnace was running, but the air that was coming out of the heating vents was not warm at all. That was my first clue that I was gonna have to call the local heating and cooling company. Of course, they were super busy because of the cold weather that was coming through and they couldn’t even get to my house until almost two days later.

I work for a delivery service, and the other day I ended up having to deliver an entire furnace unit. Normally I do not have to deliver anything like the furnaces or air conditioning systems because the HVAC companies around here tend to do that kind of delivery themselves. However, once in a while they get overwhelmed with deliveries and if that’s when I end up having to do them. I have to admit that these are not my favorite types of deliveries at all. The heating and cooling units are way larger than most of the stuff that I usually end up delivering. They are also much heavier than I like to have to deal with on my own. Usually I do not have anyone riding along with me on my delivery circuit. Whenever I have something like a furnace or an air conditioning system, it takes a lot out of me to try and get it delivered to the right spot. Usually I have to roll it on a dolly into the homeowner’s garage or something like that. It’s even worse when the homeowner is not home and I have to figure out somewhere to put it so it won’t get damaged. Sometimes there is a covered porch, but sometimes there is nowhere to put it at all! That’s when I end up having to sit there and call my dispatch to see what I’m supposed to do. Half the time I end up calling a furnace or an air conditioning unit all the way back to the delivery hub with me just because I could not leave it.

I really can’t believe how fast the furnace delivery was to my house.

Whenever I ordered our new electric furnace unit, I never dreamed that it would show up on my doorstep so quickly.

The website that I ordered it from said that it would be at least a month before delivery would take place. I was basically just minding my own business and doing some chores around the house when the delivery truck showed up at my house with an absolutely gigantic cardboard box. I had no idea what was in it and so I asked the delivery driver what the manifest said. He told me that the manifest just said that the box contained some kind of HVAC equipment but he did not have a specific item or anything listed. Since it was a good three weeks sooner than they had said that I was going to receive my new electric furnace unit, I couldn’t even believe that it was there. At that point, I did not even have anywhere to put it. I had to back our van out of the garage just so the delivery guys could roll it into the garage on their dolly. It took two of them to move it because it was so big and heavy. I just stood there looking at the box and wondering how in the world the HVAC company was ever going to be able to get that thing down our basement stairs to get it installed in the furnace room. Of course, I had to make an appointment with them right away because I just wasn’t prepared when the delivery came.

I can’t believe that I did this but I fell off the porch when I was working on a furnace job last week.

I was there working on this woman’s old oil furnace for her and there was a lot more that needed to be fixed than we originally thought that it would. There were several different pieces in the furnace that had somehow broken over time. I knew that the furnace needed some work done to it, but I had no clue that there were so many different pieces that were going to have to be replaced. I guess it was just one of those things that happens sometimes .I got the parts out of the HVAC truck and I was able to get the furnace back up and running again the way that it should have been. However, since it took me so much time to get the furnace fixed, I had to charge her a lot more money than she was expecting me to. I saw the look on her face whenever I gave her the furnace repair bill and I know that it made her mad. Well, maybe she wasn’t mad, but she was definitely upset, that’s for sure. I could tell by the look on her face that she did not want to have to pay that much for the furnace repairs. So whenever I was grabbing some stuff out of the HVAC truck to finish up the job, that’s when I ended up tripping and falling basically right on my face. I tripped when I was on the porch of her house and I landed right on the top of one of her rose bushes.

I was talking to my father the other day and I told him I needed to have my furnace repaired. He told me he would come to the house and take care of the furnace. It had been a long time since he had worked on a furnace. Ever since he took over ownership of the HVAC company, he was stuck in an office. He worked on the furnace for almost an hour, and was just finishing up when my daughter came home from pre-school. My father greeted her at the door and she squealed. She wanted to know where grandma was and he told her he was hear to fix the furnace. When she asked him how much mommy owed, he told her she owed him a hug and chocolate donut. Two months later, I had to have the AC unit serviced before summer. When the HVAC technician arrived, my daughter was home. She asked him what he charged for his work? He said he didn’t set the prices. The HVAC company he worked for told him what he could charge. She told him he worked for the wrong HVAC company. Her grandpa worked on our furnace a while ago, and all he charged was a hug and a chocolate donut. I almost spit my coffee out, when he looked at me. I told him my father owned the HVAC company. When he showed up he asked for a hug and her favorite chocolate donuts. The HVAC technician laughed and told her he would take the chocolate donut, but he didn’t think his wife would appreciate if he got hugs from such beautiful little girls.

When I called the HVAC company to have service done on my furnace, the first thing the HVAC company receptionist told me, was to make sure my animals were kennelled.

I had no problem putting my dog in his kennel, and I told her so. She gave me the time when the HVAC technician would arrived, and reminded me they had a three-hour window. Surprisingly, the HVAC technician showed up right on time. He told me he was running right on time, which was an oddity, and he hoped I had the animals put away. The only animal I didn’t have put away was my fish. They were happily swimming around in my fish tank, and knew they wouldn’t be a problem for the HVAC technician. I totally misjudged the situation. When the HVAC technician walked through the living room, he stood still and couldn’t move. He stared at the fish tank and was speechless. I told him they were only fish and they couldn’t get out of the tank. He started crying, and wanted to know why we didn’t tell him about the fish. I couldn’t believe this 250 pound HVAC technician was petrified of fish. He said his uncle used to teased him with fish. He couldn’t look at a fish without becoming catatonic. I apologized, but no one had ever told me I had to hide my fish from the HVAC technician. I had to call the HVAC company and tell them they needed to send another HVAC technician. When I told them what happened, the owner of the HVAC company started laughing so hard that he couldn’t breathe, and he asked me to repeat the story again while he put me on speaker.

My best friend was building a house.

He was always asking questions about the ‘type of HVAC system he should use.

He was trying to get everyone’s opinion instead of doing research. After listening to him brag about his house, but acting stupid about HVAC systems, I tossed my brother’s business card at him. I told him if he wants to know anything about HVAC, he should talk to my brother. I discussed my giving his card to my friend before I did it, because I knew Jack could be a pain in the butt. I understood what he was saying, but he would have an HVAC contractor helping him make the decisions. My brother told me that if the general contractor hadn’t yet appointed an HVAC contractor for Jack, he would do the job. He would expect to get paid for the project, but he would spearhead the HVAC project. He knew the contractor, and was willing to approach him and talk to him. When I told Jack about my brother and handed him the card, I knew I had done the right thing. There was no way he was going to get his house finished in time at the rate his contractor was going. Of course, if Jack was slowing the project down as much as he said he was, it wasn’t the contractor’s fault. I wondered if it would be okay to go to the house, and see what all was really going on. When I got there, the house was nearly finished on the outside, and they were working on the inside. My brother was in the house measuring up for the HVAC system, and I finally saw Jack smiling over the progress.

When I was looking for an HVAC system for my new home, one of the first questions the HVAC contractor asked was, what kind of budget did I have.

I had just bought a home that needed a new HVAC system.

Did they really think I was worried about a budget, when I was hoping the HVAC system was efficient and would last at least 15 to 20 years. I was nice when I told him, but money isn’t everything when looking for an efficient HVAC system. I had read about efficiency ratings, and I wanted the best. He wanted to know if I wanted traditional HVAC or if I wanted something else. I asked if they could install ductless HVAC into my home. I knew it would be more efficient, and I had heating and air conditioning. He explained how ductless HVAC systems worked and told me they required less maintenance, and they ran quietly. They used less energy than a traditional HVAC system, and they also gave better heating and air conditioning because each room would have its own unit. I had read about this, but there is never enough information online. I wanted to hear it from the HVAC contractor. He explained how the need for new ductwork would be eliminated. They could get rid of the visible ductwork and cap off what was in the floor and close the holes. I liked the idea of ductless HVAC even more after talking to the HVAC contractor. He said the installation could be done in one day, when I was ready for the work to be done.

One of our local heating and air conditioner companies that has been here for years is having a major change coming.

They are selling the heating and air conditioner company and it will be going under current management in about a month or so. I heard this from my buddy who works for them as a single of their certified heating and air conditioner specialists. It was quite a shock to hear about this because since the two of us were teenagers this has been the same owners and management all the time. The fantastic thing is that no a single is getting fired and all the heating and air conditioner specialists are going to remain the same… So my buddy will not lose his job and neither will anyone else. They will just have to get used to having current people around there running things. Hopefully they will be as fantastic as the previous owners because they really have the best heating and air conditioner apartment services in the local part for decades; Nearly 40 years! That is a long time of quality heating and air conditioner apartment services if you ask me. I think that I will miss them, but at least the two of us will all have the same heating and air conditioner specialists coming to our apartment to do all the heating and air conditioner labor that needs to be done when it is time for that. I am so darn lucky to live where I do, then i live in an part that has fantastic air quality all of the time all year round! This is not normal for the rest of the country as far as I know. I just got lucky in moving here, however the best time of the year is in the fall when there is a appealing cool breeze which spreads around the fantastic air quality. It is prefer mother nature’s whole apartment air purification system when you open up the windows and let it blow through your whole house. It is also pretty nice to take long walks when the breeze is cool and the air quality is high and great. I do that sometimes on weekends at those times of the year if I am not too sleepy from my long labor week at the heating and air conditioner company that I labor for. This is all year round, but even when it is super hot or cold cold, then at with those times of the year you just run your central heating and air conditioner unit and it makes your indoor comfort fantastic when you have fantastic air quality to prefer with it. Again, I am so lucky I live where I do!
